Requirements:

The AbairLeat! platform requires a teacher / facilitator / tutor to manage a group of learners by setting out and overseeing a work schedule – allocating course work – listening back to and scoring recorded materials. These learning groups can be easily set up in AbairLeat!
Teachers – Present / Manage / Give Feedback
Abair Leat! requires classes to be managed by a teacher who introduces new materials via data projector or whiteboard during class contact and who assigns homework. The teacher follows up by giving feedback for recorded work undertaken by students using the Abair Leat! platform.
Learners – Independent learning.
Learners can work independently on AbairLeat! via their own home PC. Central to this is for learners to make their own recordings i.e. imitate native speaker materials / anticipate correct answers to preset questions / undertaking themed interviews / read aloud / give opinions – descriptions – instructions etc, etc …
Games have a central role in reinforcing the focus of individual learning units throughout AbairLeat! These “games” are self-correcting and scores are saved and used in building individual learning profiles.
Outside the classroom:
Learning groups would ideally be formed within local communities / places of work / social grouping / schools etc,.. which would give participants many opportunities to practice their newly acquired Gaeilge face to face in “live” social situations.
The rule of thumb being that you chat as Gaeilge to fellow participants on chance meetings.
Speaking with other people who are at various stages of learning the language can be extremely helpful. Having the opportunity to use Gaeilge in a supportive environment on a regular basis would be of enormous value to learners.
Live the language, use it every day as often as you can. If you truly want to posses the language, you must work at it every day, from every available angle.
