Pronunciation Exercises in AbairLeat!
The use of native speaker material is a fundamental part of Abair Leat!
Learners have complete control over how many times they may listen to any particular audio. They can then record and playback their own attempt as many times as is required.
Recording yourself is especially useful when undertaking pronunciation practice activities. When you listen back to your effort, don’t worry if you sound hesitant or have made mistakes. It is, however, important to evaluate your performance. Compare your pronunciation with the master version, see how you can do better and have another go. If you do this several times, you will find that each version is better than the last.
Some general tips for the effective tackling of your pronunciation challenges:
1. Focus more heavily on pronunciation from the beginning instead of leaving it for later on. This will help develop good pronunciation habits early on.
2. Dedicate some time each day or every other day specifically to pronunciation learning. You will find that pronunciation improvement comes more easily as a result of concentrated practice
3. Work on pronunciation for short time periods of 10 or 15 minutes. You will usually make more progress in short time periods interspersed throughout the week rather than working for a single period of an hour or two.
